Unemployment:

In the years 2014-2019, the favorable economic situation in the city meant that registered unemployment was systematically decreasing. In 2014, 1,499 people were unemployed in Dzierżoniów. At the end of 2019, the number of the unemployed decreased by nearly two-thirds and amounted to 519 people. Simultaneously with the decrease in the number of the unemployed, a decrease in the unemployment rate was observed, which at the end of January 2019 amounted to 4.9% (for the poviat). For comparison, at the end of December 2016, the unemployment rate was 16.1%.
As of the end of 2020, the number of unemployed in Dzierżoniów was 687 people and was higher by 172 people compared to 2019. The unemployment rate in the poviat increased to 6.8%. The increase in the number of unemployed was certainly influenced by the COVID -19 pandemic, due to the difficult economic situation, entrepreneurs reduced employment.

In 2021, the number of unemployed in Dzierżoniów was 505 people and was lower by 182 people compared to 2020. The unemployment rate in the poviat was 5.3%. In 2022, a further decrease in unemployment is noticeable from 505 people in 2021 to 482 people at the end of 2022. In 2023, the number of unemployed people remained at a similar level - 487 people.
