Dzierżoniów is characterized by a very high level of entrepreneurship. At the end of 2024, there were 4,574 business entities registered in the city, including 2,778 sole proprietorships. There are 2 large plants in the city, employing more than 250 people.
In 2017-2019, the city saw an increase in the number of newly registered business entities. In 2020-2021, due to the negative effects of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, this number decreased to 249 entities at the end of 2021. In 2022, this number increased to 269 and in 2023 to 278 entities. In 2024, there was another drop to 234 entities. The drop in 2024 is the result of several simultaneous factors: rising labor costs, an uncertain macroeconomic situation, and unfavorable demographics.
