Poland became a full member of the European Union on May 1, 2004. 20 years have passed since this event, which allows us to summarize the benefits that EU membership has brought to the inhabitants and economy of Dzierżoniów.
Dzierżoniów has changed a lot over 20 years. Such dynamic development was possible thanks to financial support from European funds, thanks to which it was possible to implement many investments and activities improving the quality of life of residents and the attractiveness of the city, such as: renovation of roads and buildings, support for education, senior policy, ecology and digital inclusion.
In the years 2004-2024, Dzierżoniów obtained nearly PLN 80 million from European Union funds for the implementation of 67 projects. EU membership also opened up the possibility of faster economic development of our city, thanks to easier access to the EU market. Thanks to EU funds, enterprises had and still have the opportunity to implement their ideas and development plans. Using EU funds has become an important element of business development strategies.
In the years 2004 - 2024, Dzierżoniów entrepreneurs received subsidies from the European Union for a total amount of nearly PLN 150 million. The value of the projects they have implemented is over PLN 300 million. EU funds also helped Dzierżoniów's entrepreneurs survive the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic. 23 Dzierżoniów enterprises received EU funds to maintain their operations for a total amount of nearly PLN 2 million.
