Shield 8.0. Extended support for entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs from several dozen industries may apply for an exemption from paying contributions for February 2021. They will also be able to take advantage of the parking benefit up to three times. Extended forms of support for entrepreneurs affected by the coronavirus pandemic entered into force at the beginning of March.

The latest changes result from the regulation of the Council of Ministers on support for entrepreneurs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The new regulations entered into force on February 28, 2021.

- After changing the regulations, entrepreneurs from almost 50 different industries can obtain help from ZUS. The scope and form of support depends on the type of predominant economic activity - says Iwona Kowalska-Matis, the regional spokesman for the Social Insurance Institution in Lower Silesia.

According to the spokeswoman, entrepreneurs may apply for an exemption from paying contributions for January 2021 or for December 2020 and January 2021, or for February 2021.

Entrepreneurs from almost 50 different industries were entitled to assistance. The scope and form of support depends on the type of predominant economic activity. Entrepreneurs from the fitness, catering, tourist industry, accommodation facilities, health resorts, cultural and entertainment facilities, companies involved in photography, film and music production or distribution, and physiotherapists will be able to apply for the remission of contributions for February and the downtime benefit (up to three times). . Taxi drivers and transport support services will also benefit from the exemption from contributions for December and January.
The new regulation has postponed the deadline for submitting the application by one month, ie the RDZ-B7 application can be submitted no later than April 30, 2021. The deadline for submitting settlement documents for the requested period has also changed. The entrepreneur must do this by March 31, 2021, unless he is exempt from the obligation to submit a settlement declaration and personal reports.

Pursuant to the new regulation, entrepreneurs from specific industries may receive the parking benefit once, twice or three times, while taking into account the benefits already collected under the regulation, which was in force until February 27, 2021. Entrepreneurs may submit an application for this benefit no later than 3 months from the month in which the epidemic will be lifted.

Importantly, applications for support from the Anti-Crisis Shield 7.0. submitted by February 27 (before the date of entry into force of the new regulation), ZUS will be examined by ZUS on the basis of the regulation of the Council of Ministers of January 19, 2021. However, entrepreneurs who apply for exemption from paying contributions will have a new deadline for submitting settlement declarations or personal monthly reports - until March 31, 2021
